We have designed this process to give you (and us) a framework for making an educated and informed decision about working together. Of equal importance, you will finish this financial planning process knowing exactly where you stand in the four key areas of retirement success.

For people who are potentially a good fit for our firm, there is no cost or obligation for this process as we want you to know exactly how we can help you before you pay us a single dollar in fees or trust us with a penny of your nest egg.

Step One: Initial Phone Meeting

A 15-minute phone call will give us both a chance to make sure your situation matches our expertise. After all, you wouldn’t see a Cardiologist if you needed foot surgery.

If we aren’t the right financial planning firm to help you, we will happily point you to the right expert for your unique needs.

Step Two: Team Meeting

Like a doctor, it’s important to diagnose before we prescribe.

The next step is meeting with our team (in our office or via Zoom). During this one-hour meeting, our team will get crystal clear on your financial goals, needs, and concerns.

Before this meeting, we will request a few important documents. This data will drive our analysis and result in answers to the four critical questions.

Step Three: Analyze

We will apply decades of experience, thousands of hours of training and mentoring by the industry’s top experts to answer the following questions:

  • Can you afford to retire?

  • Are you overpaying your taxes?

  • Can your portfolio be improved?

  • Can you eliminate, or at least reduce threats to your retirement?

Step Four: Review Assessment

With your Retirement Assessment complete, we will have a second meeting (in person or virtually via Zoom) to review our findings and recommendations.

In plain English, we will explain exactly what you can do to improve your retirement plan. We will also answer the four critical questions.

At the end of this meeting, we will ask if you would like to begin working with our firm or if you would like to Sleep On It.

Step Five: Sleep On It

We are looking for long-term client relationships, not a quick transaction. It’s important that you take as much time as needed to make a decision.

To help you make a smart decision, answer these questions:

  1. Do I have confidence in the R.H Kilburn team?

  2. Do the benefits outweigh the cost?

  3. Do I understand and agree with their investment approach?

  4. Do their financial planning recommendations make sense?

We will follow-up within a few days to determine how you would like to move forward.

If you decide that we aren’t a good fit to work together, we will not take it personally. In fact, we will wish you the best and help you find someone who might be a better fit. There is never a hard-sell or pressure to say yes.

Step Six: Here We Go!

We are truly honored to be working with you. Before the fun begins, we will regroup (via phone or in-person) to answer any outstanding questions and set expectations for the new client process.

Prior to this meeting, we will have sent you a detailed breakdown of this process and addressed any concerns.

If this process makes sense to you, the next step is to decide if our qualifications meet your needs.
